What Most People Don’t Know About Introverts

No, I’m not shy.
I’m reserved.

No, I’m not anti-social.
I’m an observer.

No, I’m not stuck-up.
I’m a good listener. And I speak up when I have something meaningful to say.

These are just some of the many things I’ve heard over the years for being so quiet.

I used to think that being quiet was something I had to get over or overcome. Like it was some sort of deficiency.

I know now that how I am built is on purpose. And I am an introvert.

Despite all of the stereotypes of what an introvert is, I wanted to clarify.

It’s all about where you get your energy.

An introvert is a person who needs quiet time to recharge and feel centered.

While an extrovert feeds off other people’s energy.

It’s that simple.

So, yes sometimes assumptions and stereotypes happen and we get attention for all the wrong reasons. But that doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you.

Own who you are. Just as you are. In all of your quiet, insightful, compassionate glory.

You wouldn’t be created this way without a greater purpose. #trust
