I used to be really afraid of deep water. The deep end of a swimming pool was scary. And the ocean with it’s infinite depths seemed terrifying.
For me, deep water represented a loss of control. If I could not stand up and feel the ground or the bottom of the pool, I felt lost, without a sense of being on solid ground.
It felt safe to stay on the shallow end of the pool. I mean, I could still enjoy myself and swim. I felt no need to go into the deep end.
But now, I see the value in going deep. Deeper within myself. Going beyond the surface is where the magic is. Your unique beauty and power live beyond the surface.
Having gone through some major soul searching over the past few years, I see the value in going beyond the image of who you think you are. You are so much more than the image you try to uphold. You have an undeniable essence, a spirit that embodies all of who you are and what you are meant to share in this world.
In the depths, it’s scary to face all of who you are. Sometimes you see things you don’t want to see. But all of these sides are all a part of you. The dark allows you to see the light. They all make you a whole human being, imperfections and all. On a personal level, that’s really your gift, your imperfections make you unique and special. On a professional level, accepting the parts of you that are difficult to own, actually help you better serve others through your passion because you become more compassionate, able to relate to the their problems. As you own the wholeness of you, you can naturally offer meaningful solutions to your ideal clients.
Don’t be afraid of who you are. Let go of controlling who you think you are supposed to be. Surrender to all of who you are meant to be.
Own all of who you are. Be brave. Face it all and accept it all. Forgive yourself. You are doing the best that you can. And that’s good enough. You have immense value. Your greatness lives inside of you and is calling you to express more and more of your who you truly are.
The image you project on the outside is meant to be an aligned expression of who you are on the inside. Honor who you are and reflect the depth and truth of your beauty from the inside out.
So, go ahead and dive in. Don’t be afraid of all the depth and magic that comes from going beyond the surface. Go deeper within yourself and celebrate what you find.
And just FYI, deep water doesn’t scare me so much anymore.
