You know that feeling when your soul wants you to play bigger and your mind tries to play crazy tricks on you? You want to go for it, but you have this resistance holding you back.
It’s a tug of war between your heart and your ego.
Your soul inspires you with big ideas that you have never done before. It tries to remind you that you are unlimited.
Sounds exciting, but when it comes down to taking action, it can feel scary.
Then your ego comes in. Telling you to stay comfortable in your small box. It whispers, “Hey, you may be playing small, but at least you are safe.”
What do you do?
As an introvert, it can feel very tough to allow yourself to be seen. We fear being criticized, judged or rejected.
It just feels easier sometimes to hide in the background.
And some days, it’s ok to hang back away from the spotlight.
But, hiding is not where you are meant to stay.
You are born to be seen and to be heard. In your own way.
Take your time.
Take small steps.
You need to feel safe as you get you out of your comfort zone.
That’s the key. To know that within yourself, you are always safe. Your safety does not depend on anything or anyone outside of you.
You have the power to feel at home within yourself.
But How?
1. Be present and feel whatever you are feeling as you take a leap of faith. Accept that discomfort and fear are natural as you continue to grow.
2. Believe that you are supported. Life is supporting you now. And will continue to support you as you play bigger. Notice the ideas, opportunities and people that show up in your life when you believe.
3. Take one small, inspired step. Don’t overthink it. Just move forward.
4. Celebrate your huge win. Acknowledge yourself for having the courage to move forward in your own way.
The more you do this for yourself, you will feel more safe within yourself as you take more inspired action.
This is your own journey. No one can tell you how to live your life.
You are the leader of your own life.
Be kind to yourself. Be gentle. Be honest with what you really want.
You set the pace. You direct your path. You acknowledge your wins.
This is your journey. It’s for you to own. If you so choose.
But know this.
You sharing who you are and who you are becoming is a courageous act of service. For yourself and for humanity.
Be brave. And know that you are bigger than you think.
Feel the truth.
Because when you show up fully, you will inspire others to do the same.
P.S.
I wrote this post for you. And for me.
I’ve got some big things coming up that will require me to show up in a bigger way. The truth is it scares the bejezus out of me. But I’m going to do it anyway. Because this is not just about me. It’s about us being brave to do what it is we are meant to do on this earth. And serving in a bigger way.
P.S.S.
Would love to know how you have faced your fears and showed up anyway. Please share your experience in the comments below.
